Can my dog eat that?
Fruit, vegetables, sides, eggs, fish and dairy from your kitchen: what can go in the bowl, how much of it, and how do you prepare it? Each page gives a clear answer, works out the amount for your dog's weight and names its sources.
In short
Of the 38 foods on this page, your dog can eat 12 freely, 23 only in moderation and 2 not at all. One is not toxic, but unnecessary. For everything that's allowed: no seasoning, seeds, stones and hard skins removed, new foods tried in small amounts first – and all snacks together no more than 10% of daily calories (WSAVA recommendation).

How we arrive at the answers
- Backed by sources: every statement on toxicity, nutrients and amounts is based on the sources at the end of the page, including at least one veterinary source.
- Amounts: the calculator takes the smaller of two limits – no more than 10% of daily calories for all snacks (WSAVA) and a guide value per weight class, taken from the source or, where no figure is documented, marked as a cautious rule set by our editors. The daily requirement is the same as in the calorie calculator.
- Reviewed: every page shows its review date. Who is behind it is explained under Editorial team & methodology. The pages are no substitute for veterinary advice.
